Brian and Lisa's Australian Adventure: Hunter Valley and the Blue Mountains

We quickly became "citied out" in Sydney, so it was a perfect time to head up to the Hunter Valley. About two hours north of Sydney, the Hunter, as it is locally known, is one of Australia's wine growing region. The largest is in South Australia (where most Shiraz is grown), but the Hunter is a nice area with about 70 vineyards.

After three days there, we drove out to the Blue Mountains - a fantastic valley area which was fogged in for most of our stay. We still got out to hike for two days though (in the pouring rain).
